NDI has been traveling the road for 14 years now, shocking and stunning audiences all over the world. Their records speak of true passion for rock 'n' roll, and food, and girls, and girls. Seeing them live is an unforgettable and often complicated experience, depeding on how many "refreshments" you consume and how you arrived at the show. See them as soon as you can, and if it going to be a long drive, make sure to pick up a few of their albums from NDI's close friends here at Pravda Records. You'll be glad you did.

End of Phase One
End Of Phase One is the first studio recording in eight years from the New Duncan Imperials and it was worth the wait. Bristling with the kind of straight-ahead-yet twisted songs that characterize their best work, this album reveals a band that is tough, vital, and still poking rock in the ribs. Formed almost twenty years ago, The New Duncan Imperials combine white trash culture, Dada art, and Chuck Berry to create the most glorious noise on the planet. Their history is written in smoke, noise, and nonsense, and it is an inspiring example of what three young men can do with a few rock riffs, a few insane ideas, and a van full of garage sale oddities. End Of Phase One is a continuation of the NDI sound that has always been hard to categorize. Sometimes it's straight rock. Sometimes it's indie flavored pop. Sometimes it's alt-country swamp rock. Sometimes it's punk. But somehow it all comes together and makes sense. Well...kind of. This is the kind of album full of left turns and surprises that has made the New Duncan Imperials famous and slightly misunderstood at times. Are they serious? Are they kidding? Are they happy? Are they depressed? It's all here on End Of Phase One and one thing is clear. The New Duncan Imperials are lovers of creating music.

Sticky
Ten years ago, The New Duncan Imperials embarked on a crusade to single-handedly save rock 'n' roll from the evil forces of meaningful pop crap. They failed. But in that decade they came up with some unforgettably twisted songs, and released four of the most unusual and bravest rock albums anywhere. Then, in Spring of 1999, the band sequestered themselves in Chicago's Uberstudio and built a monument to the music they love - loud, pretty and just plain weird rock 'n' roll, and they called it STICKY.
This CD features 30 brand new songs, which would be something for a hormone-charged bunch of kids but is even more of a surprise coming from the wily rock veterans of NDI. After touring the USA, Canada and Europe, after countless nights of screwball powerage and near-fatal stage stunts, after recording over a hundred original songs, what did they have to gain? The question is best answered by Skipper, the band's bassist: "What did we have to GAIN? What did we have to LOSE?"
STICKY is spread out over two CDs, with the first being a bit louder and the second being a bit weirder. The first disc is where you'll find the stomping guitar riffs of "Mars Needs Bars" and "Hate to Think", as well as the blazing "Funny Daddy Sleeping on Mommy", "Date with Cha Cha" and "High Hopes." But it's not just one big blur/ "Wish You Were There" is a homicidal hoe-down, and "Small Craft Advisory" - about roadside souvenir shops - helps slow things down a bit. CD2 possesses a crop of power-pop gems, including "That Jerk", "Dumb it Down", "Stuck in Reverse" and "Thumbsucker." It is also home to "Just Another Song About Helmet" (the band, bot the headgear) and the truly perverse anthem, "To All Our Friends in Other Bands." To hear more sound clips from STICKY visit NDI's website!
We could go on and on, but the only real way to experience STICKY is to pop both discs out of the case and into your player. Begin with song one and end with song thirty. First, though, you'll want to disconnect the phone and put the dog out, and take off your shoes, and your pants, and get ready to get STICKY.
