Born in Mississippi and rooted in Tennessee, Cordell Jackson is a resounding example of rock'n'roll tenacity. Inspired by her father, Cordell is an accomplished instumentalist, excelling at guitar, harmonica, upright bass, and piano. Born in 1923, she became the first female recording engineer and producer in the United States. After seven years of writing and recording demos of her material with her friend Sam Phillips at the legendary Sun Records, she established her own label, Moon Records.

An icon of rockabilly restrospect, she has appeared in the motion picture "Great Balls of Fire', has been featured in Budweiser commericals, and has dropped in on The Late Show with David Letterman and Regis & Kathy Lee. She has been interviewed by the likes of Entertainment TOnight and MTV, along with Billboard and Spin magazines.

From the swift strumming on Memphis Moon and The Split, to the raw rockabilly rhythms of Midnight Rodeo and Basketball Man, the guitar granny delivers her frisky, warbling country tunes with true southern spitfire.
